HOCl for Healthcare & Senior Care programme

Applications — Healthcare & Senior Care

Every point in the operation where generated hypochlorous acid does useful work, with the concentration each one calls for.

Application map

  • Terminal cleaning of patient rooms and treatment areas
  • High-touch point programmes on the daily schedule
  • Electrostatic fogging of rooms between occupancy
  • Equipment surface disinfection
  • Wound care irrigation with appropriate grade product
  • Water system treatment
  • Long-term care communal areas

Setting concentration by application

Application Typical concentration Why
Food-contact surfaces 50–200 ppm Within the regulated limit; no potable rinse required
General environmental 100–200 ppm Balance of efficacy and consumable cost
Wash and process water 50–100 ppm residual Maintained against organic load
Fogging and space treatment 100–200 ppm Coverage matters more than concentration
Drains, biofilm, harbourage 200–500 ppm Matrix consumes oxidiser
Potable water dosing Up to 4 mg/L Regulated limit

Application method matters as much as chemistry

A surface the solution never reached has not been treated, no matter how good the solution is. Trigger bottles wet what they are pointed at; electrostatic application wraps charged droplets around three-dimensional objects and deposits on faces pointing away from the operator. For complex equipment and room-scale work, the Jet H2 converts a given volume of solution into materially more treated surface.

Distribution across a site

Where multiple applications draw from one generator, a holding tank and distribution loop lets continuous production serve intermittent peak demand. This is almost always cheaper than sizing the generator to the peak.
