EcoloxTech 300

A wall-mounted generator producing 300 litres of hypochlorous acid per hour at 20–225 ppm. The right size for a building.

Overview

The EcoloxTech 300 is the entry point to commercial onsite generation. It mounts on a wall, connects to softened feedwater, drain and single-phase power, and produces continuously into a tap, a fill station or a holding tank.

Output concentration is adjustable across the full 20–225 ppm range, which is what allows one machine to serve several protocols. Nobody has to remember a dilution ratio, because the machine is set to the concentration the SOP calls for.

Sizing: is 300 L/hr enough?

300 L/hr is 2,400 litres over an eight-hour day — considerably more than most single buildings consume. The question is rarely total volume; it is whether the peak draw exceeds the production rate. Where the peak is the constraint, the answer is a holding tank rather than a bigger generator.

Production rates

Concentration falls as flow rate rises, and the current setting moves it again: the figures below are measured at 17 A and at 22 A, the two ends of the E-300 ampere range. The acidified additive adds hydrochloric acid to the brine, which holds the solution in the hypochlorous acid range and raises the free available chlorine at every flow rate.

Flow rate Normal salt water additive Acidified salt water additive (HCl added)

1 L/min 120 ppm 180 ppm 200 ppm 258 ppm
2 L/min 96 ppm 140 ppm 178 ppm 230 ppm
3 L/min 85 ppm 100 ppm 143 ppm 202 ppm
4 L/min 74 ppm 80 ppm 121 ppm 184 ppm

6 L/min 39 ppm 50 ppm 71 ppm 108 ppm

Installation requirements

  • Softened potable feedwater at adequate pressure
  • Drain access
  • Single-phase mains power at the mounting location
  • Ventilated space — electrolysis liberates a small volume of hydrogen, which is vented
  • Storage for food-grade salt

How many E-300s would you need?

Sizing depends on the concentration you run at — asking for a higher ppm lowers the flow rate. Put your daily volume, target ppm and pH into the HOCl system sizing calculator and it works the unit count out from the E-300 production tables, including the effect of a buffer tank.
