Electrolyzed Oxidizing Water (EOW), or electrolytically generated hypochlorous acid, is a safe and effective antimicrobial on fruits and vegetables. Electrolyzed water has demonstrated in numerous studies to be highly effective for inactivating E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella enteritidis, Listeria monocytogenes, and spore-forming bacteria. EOW is ideal for replacing the water used in produce washers. There are no limitations to the capacity that can be produced. Electrolytically generated hypochlorous acid is a powerful oxidant that is stable in solution.
